COMMISSIONED EDUCATION | LUND UNIVERSITY 

There is a strong demand for professionals with an advanced training in clinical trials. This course aims to educate Swedish healthcare professionals, clinical investigators and aspiring clinical investigators in clinical trials towards P3 medicine with focus on metabolic diseases. Clinical Trials towards P3 Medicine - Focus Metabolic Diseases is offered through collaboration between Lund University Diabetes Centre, Skåne University Hospital and Novo Nordisk.

DESCRIPTION

There is a strong demand for people with advanced training in clinical trials. This new course - Clinical Trials towards P3 Medicine (predictive, preventive and personalised) – has been created to provide competence in areas which will have a great impact on future clinical research and testing. Clinical studies with patient recruitment-by-genotype as well as recruitment-by-phenotype are anticipated to play an important role in the years to come. 

COURSE STRUCTURE

This three-day course is comprised of lectures on genetics, epidemiology and gene-environment interactions, statistics in clinical trials, new techniques applied to clinical metabolic research and the design of clinical trials. This will be complemented with hands-on training in the Clinical Metabolic Laboratory at the Clinical Research Center in Malmö as well as a state-of-the art lecture on a hot topic.

The course is offered through collaboration between Lund University Diabetes Centre, Skåne University Hospital and Novo Nordisk.

LIPUS (The Institute for the Professional Development of Physicians in Sweden) will review the course.

The course is financed by Novo Nordisk (excluding costs for travel and accomodation).

TARGET GROUP

Swedish healthcare professionals, clinical investigators and aspiring clinical investigators within the field of metabolic diseases and an interest in clinical trials.

This course is financed by Novo Nordisk, however the costs for travel and accomodation are covered by the participant´s employer. Rooms are held at the Scandic Hotel Triangeln, Malmö, for participants choosing to stay there.
